Commissioned by the Jewish Culture Festival, Emmanuel Witzthum’s project Jerusalem Soundscape is a result of his 5 years long work on recording various sounds of Jerusalem.
The artist places these recordings as interventions, pop-ups of everyday life in one city in the context of another one. You will hear the sounds of hidden corners, lively streets and squares, and the subtle sounds of nature. You will listen to countless prayers of the faithful, multi-lingual conversations of tourists, pilgrims and locals.
In different concrete locations in Krakow you will find yourselves in two places at the same time – physically in the Market Square, in a garden or a street, and at the same time in Jerusalem, with the culture of this city expressed in sound.
Old Town (From Jafa Gate, to Nablus Gate, to the Western Wall)
